We live in a culture of criticism that pushes us to optimize every aspect of ourselves and our lives. We are told that we should reach our peak performance, we should optimize our teams, we should maintain top physical fitness. And we should also maintain the calm mindfulness of the Dalai Lama. We should lean in, but not too far. Professional life is a ShouldStorm. And the final endpoint of that life in the ShouldStorm is a lack of satisfaction at best, and burnout at worst.

The good news is that I've developed a method that can help you hack your brain to perform your best without breaking yourself. Rooted in recent findings from neuroscience, the method is only three steps. It's deceptively simple, but it works.

Dr. Alison Escalante is on a mission to eradicate the epidemic anxiety that is impacting professionals and she's designed a method to address it.

She presented her method in a TEDX talk where she coined the term "ShouldStorm" to describe our culture of criticism that’s always shaming us with what we should do. She writes about the science of human performance for Forbes and the psychology of living in the ShouldStorm for Psychology Today. She is a full time practicing pediatrician in Naperville and an Adjunct Professor at Rush University's Medical College.

We will breakout into groups after Dr. Escalante's presedntation for PWCC-style networking.
