2008-2009
PWCC President:
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve as the Professional Women’s Club of Chicago president this year! Coming off last year’s many successes, including record membership numbers, extraordinarily well-attended events, the fabulous 10th anniversary celebration, and a solid budget to sustain our growth, I’m confident we are poised for even more achievements in 2008-2009. I’m grateful to have the support of PWCC’s board of directors, a group of extraordinarily dedicated women who give their time and energy to propel PWCC forward.
For those of you who are members, I encourage you to elevate your involvement. As a PWCC member, you can be guaranteed that any effort you put in will be paid back exponentially in wonderful experiences and amazing new connections. Even though we’re more than 200 members strong, our committee structure allows each member to have an intimate, rewarding relationship with the organization. Each individual has the ability to leave their own legacy with PWCC and I invite you to leave your indelible stamp.
For those of you who are just learning about PWCC, I have a lot to share with you. I joined PWCC over five years ago. I was looking for an organization where I could meet other professional, engaging women and where I could feel comfortable sharing my already expanding network.
I was so impressed when I attended my first luncheon – the women weren’t just cordial, they were eager to meet me and identify ways they could benefit me professionally. I had never been exposed to such “organizational generosity” before. It was all I needed to convince me that I’d found the place I had been seeking.
From obtaining advice on ways to transition to a new career to finding a new nanny to celebrating professional successes, PWCC is the organization for professional Chicago women. While I have been grateful for the business leads I’ve received, I am forever in debt to PWCC for the friendships I’ve made.
For those of you who have never had a great women’s network, I can’t tell you how amazing it is to walk into a room and know that you are among a pool of friends. That pool quickly becomes a lake and the lake quickly becomes an ocean as you become friends with more and more women
If you are seeking an organization where you can meet other professional women like yourself and find a plethora of networking connections that support, enrich and inspire, PWCC is the place you need. I know I do and I am happy to call it my home.”
