PWCC President:
“I recently attended a luncheon that once again gave me an opportunity to truly appreciate PWCC. By all accounts, the luncheon was perfecty fine: the food was better than average, the speaker was engaging and I walked away feeling better educated. But I did not walk away feeling inspired and, therefore, I do not consider the luncheon a success.
Perhaps this seems like a high threshold. Yet, this is exactly how I feel leaving a PWCC event. And I know that I am not alone in feeling inspired. I see the look of understanding in our members as one of our speaker discusses her own struggles. I hear it in our members voices when they recognize that they too can take dramatic action to improve their business and themselves. I feel the energy in the room as members, old and new, connect with one another for the common purpose of promoting and advancing the business interests of women. This is what I value most about PWCC.
During these challenging times, however, being inspired takes some work. Therefore, the PWCC Board of Directors has taken on some bold initiatives: revamping our website, increasing members-only programs, developing a table facilitator training course. As President of PWCC, I am honored to have been selected to oversee these projects and eager to begin tackling them. For inspiration, I will look at the success of PWCC's past presidents. For support, I will look at the Board of Directors. And for motivation, I will look at the members who expect as much from PWCC as I do.
